KUALA LUMPUR, NOVEMBER 29, 2007 As the wheels turn on the marketing drive for the upcoming World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2008, another 10 companies have signed on to be part of what is probably the single most important global information and communications technology (ICT) event. Unlike other big IT shows, the biennial WCIT brings together every segment of the ICT community, including not just technologists, vendors of technology products and services, but also their enterprise customers, top business executives, heads of state, as well as public sector leaders from all over the world.

On Wednesday (November 28, 2007), the following companies sealed their partnership agreements—with the total contribution value of RM6.4 million (US$1.9 million)—at a grand evening ceremony with Malaysia's Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Dato' Sri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis presiding:-

VELCHIP—Malaysia-based broadband powerline solutions provider
CNBC—business news broadcast media
Fairfax Business Media—Asia's top media, research and events company specialising in business and enterprise IT
Fuji Xerox—document management solutions provider
EDS—technology services vendor
SAS—specialised business intelligence software and services vendor
NCL Solutions—creative learning solutions provider
Malaysia Debt Ventures—financing specialists for ICT
TIME Engineering Bhd—ICT solutions vendor
The Media Shoppe—Internet application and solution developer

At press time, the number of organisations that have signed up for WCIT 2008 is 27 (including the above 10 companies).
